Prof Oh and His Team Head to Miami to Compete in the DARPA Grand Challenge

PHILADELPHIA, December 18, 2013 — After 15-months of work, Team DRC-Hubo lead by Drexel began its trip to Miami this week to compete in the DARPA Robotics Challenge (DRC) Trails Dec 20-21, 2013. The DRC is an international competition, motivated by the Fukushima nuclear accident that catalyzes the development of disaster-response and humanitarian assistance robots. Selected from top robotics groups in the world, Drexel goes head-to-head against institutions like NASA, the University of Tokyo, CMU, MIT and Lockheed-Martin to demonstrate a robot performing tasks that include driving a vehicle, climbing a ladder and breaking a wall.
