Haider Hasan Receives NDSEG Fellowship
May 26, 2011 — Graduating MEM senior Haider Hasan has been awarded the prestigious National Defense Science and Engineering Graduate (NDSEG) fellowship allowing him to pursue his PhD in mechanical engineering at the University of California, Berkeley.
Hasan is graduating in June 2011 with a BS/MS (Honors) in Mechanical Engineering, as well as minors in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. He was a STAR Scholar as a freshmen where he was introduced to the area of plasma engineering, and eventually completed his master’s thesis in the same area. He intends to focus his research efforts in Computational Science & Engineering, Energy Science & Technology and Combustion.
