Returning Physicians

Whether you explored a different career path, raised a family or simply retired, there are a number of reasons you may have stopped practicing medicine. But working with patients is a tough job to give up, leading many to seek relicensure and return to clinical practice. While returning after an extended period of time can be a daunting task, the Drexel Physician Refresher/Re-entry program makes the transition as smooth as possible.

Medical Graduates Seeking Residency

Many of our participants come seeking placement in a residency program. While participation in this program does not guarantee residency, we offer several observership, preceptorship and shadowing opportunities to prepare you for those programs and have been successful in helping many physicians obtain their goals. We strongly suggest that you talk with a residency director to see if this opportunity will improve your competitiveness.

Referring Groups

Many of our participants have been referred to us by state medical boards, hospital credentialing groups, employers, health groups, university residency programs and attorneys. We work with you to assess, educate, or home in on a targeted clinical or communication skill for your physician(s).

   I joined the Drexel Refresher course to work on my H/P skills, practice note writing, and interact with other colleagues in the medical field. The course provided a lot of options for you as the learner to choose a focus and tailor your studies to your interests. During the COVID pandemic, the course offered modules on COVID management and the ability to advance telehealth skills.
