Additional avenues to explore diversity through our various interest groups for students, for faculty where there is the faculty bylaws committee and (under construction) are site specific diversity action councils, and for staff. If you have ideas on new groups or activities, let the Office of Diversity, Equity & Inclusion know!
How can I contribute to our social justice mission?
There are numerous ways to support diversity, equity and inclusion within the College of Medicine, as well as outside of it. To promote a more diverse representation, there is a need for participation in admissions committees, search committees, and residency recruitment efforts. Equity takes many forms. There are scholars’ opportunities for students and pilot grant opportunities for faculty, and both are available to promote new interesting ideas and collaboration.

Do diversity, equity and inclusion have anything to do with research?
It can, as students can collaborate with faculty on their health equity projects or design new ones based on the multiple community outreach experiences available to them. Faculty can learn about connections to other interdisciplinary researchers to expand their ideas and join collaborative teams.
