The Materials Electrochemistry Group, directed by Associate Professor Ekaterina Pomerantseva, works on the development and characterization of novel nanostructured materials, systems and architectures for batteries, supercapacitors and fuel cells in order to understand electrochemical energy storage and conversion at the nanoscale. The lab’s research has two main goals: the development of new nanomaterials, architectures and systems that will address fundamental electrochemical issues; and by answering fundamental questions, will tackle practical challenges and aid in the development of new nanostructured electrochemical systems for efficient superior next-generation energy storage technology.
