President’s Community Service Honor Roll Award
Drexel was recognized for its commitment to civic engagement and community service through the President’s Community Service Honor Roll. A collaborative effort led by the Lindy Center for Civic Engagement to catalog the overall institutional commitment to service and engagement led to our recognition in the General Community Service category for 2006-2007. We again won the award in 2007-2008 and 2008-2009.
Carnegie Foundation Community Engagement Classification for Curricular Engagement and Outreach and Partnerships
Drexel was recognized by the Carnegie Foundation for the Advancement of Teaching in 2008 as a university with significant collaboration between the institution and the larger community (local, regional/state, national, global) for the mutually beneficial exchange of knowledge and resources in a context of partnership and reciprocity. The University was awarded both the distinction for its commitment to curricular engagement as well as to outreach and partnership with the community. The Lindy Center for Civic Engagement led to the effort to collect and submit the information to the Carnegie Foundation. This elective classification began in 2006.
