OSA and Financial Aid Announcements

Town Hall Meeting
Thursday, April 17 | 12:15-1:15 p.m. | Room 140
Dean Dennis will discuss the budget, the results of the ABA site visit, and the law school's US News and World Report ranking.

Financial Aid for Summer
Students interested in receiving financial aid for the Summer Semester at the law school should note the following:

• The tuition charge this summer will be $1,073 per credit after the law school’s 20% discount is applied. The General Fee will be $420.

• Law Merit Scholarships cannot be applied to summer tuition.

• Students taking at least 4.5 credits or half time enrollment can take out Federal Graduate Plus Loans or private education loans to cover their expenses. You can start applying for summer loans the second week of April at www.studentloans.gov or at your private lender’s website. The loan is for 2013-14 (Not 2014-15). The loan term is 05/27/2014 - 08/01/2014.

• Living expenses as well as tuition and fees are added to a summer student’s 2013-2014 budget. Loan funds can then be used to cover these costs if needed. Funds will be scheduled to disburse May 20, 2014 with refunds issued by the Bursar’s Office over the following 2 weeks.

• There are no additional financial aid applications necessary as long as your FAFSA for 2013-14 is on file with the school.

Financial Aid for the 2014-15 Academic Year

1) The Free Application for Federal Student Aid or FAFSA is now available online. The IRS data retrieval tool allows applicants to automatically upload information directly from a filed 2013 tax return. FAFSAs for returning students should be filed by May 1st to insure that aid is in place at the start of the fall term.

2) All returning law students receiving any financial aid, including Law Merit Scholarships, are also required to submit an Institutional Financial Aid Application or FAAPP. This form can be found at http://drexel.edu/drexelcentral/about/forms/ and dropped off in the Law School OSA.
