Student
Organizations: Christian Law Students: Statement
of Faith
About
Our Statement of Faith
In
our modern culture, the word “Christian” has a variety of
meanings. For consistency and clarity, our organization
has adopted the national Christian Legal Society statement
of faith as our own. The statement reflects the stance of
the organization itself, as reflected in our leadership. However,
all Drexel law students are invited to attend Bible studies,
law student events, and community service projects regardless
of religious affiliation.
Statement
of Faith:
Trusting in Jesus
Christ as my Savior, I believe in:
- One
God, eternally existent in three persons, Father, Son
and Holy Spirit.
- God
the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth.
- The
Deity of our Lord, Jesus Christ, God’s only Son, conceived
of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin Mary; His vicarious
death for our sins through which we receive eternal life;
His bodily resurrection and personal return.
- The
presence and power of the Holy Spirit in the work of
regeneration.
- The
Bible as the inspired Word of God.
What
makes Christianity unique?
Grace! We
cannot earn salvation. All of us deserve Hell. God’s
standard is perfection and none of us come remotely close. God
is loving and doesn’t want to punish us. But, He is also
just and cannot tolerate sin. The solution? Jesus
Christ. Jesus was perfect. He took the punishment
we deserve—the wrath of God—upon Himself when He died on the
cross. When we accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior in
our lives, God graciously forgives us. We are declared
righteous and guaranteed Heaven.
In summary, salvation is by grace alone, through faith alone, in
Jesus Christ alone.
