Spirited Battle: Alcohol Producers, False Advertising & Class Action Lawsuits

Thursday, November 12, 2015

5:00 PM-9:00 PM

Rising interest in hand-crafted and locally sourced products has driven consumer demand for craft and small-batch spirits.

Manufacturers seeking to slake the growing thirst for craft spirits now face class action lawsuits from consumers who claim they've been duped into paying premium prices for mass-produced spirits masquerading as craft beer and liquor.

This 2-credit CLE (including 1 ethics credit) for attorneys will explore the emerging legal questions surrounding the meaning of "small batch," "hand-crafted" and related terms.

The program will feature:

    • Francine Friedman Griesing, founder of Griesing Law LLC and seasoned advocate in complex business transactions and high-stakes litigation
    • Alva C. Mather, litigator and trial attorney who specializes in the food, beverage and hospitality industries
