Drexel Law Review, the semi-annual student-directed law journal, launched its newly redesigned website in tandem with publication of the second issue of the Drexel Law Review Online.

The Winter 2016 issue of the online journal features articles by two current students and a recent alumnus:

  • “Lead us Not into Temptation: Stash House Stings and the Outrageous Government Conduct Defense” by Marc Esterow, a 3L and executive articles editor, examines the controversial use of “stash house sting” operations by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms over the last 20 years.
  • “Public Utility Zoning Post-Robinson Township: a Constitutional End-Around or Infrastructure Imperative?” by Peter Johnsen, ’15, explores the regulatory oversight of oil and natural gas operations in Pennsylvania as well as the constitutionality of exempting them from local zoning law.
  • “So When Did Public Order Start Trumping Fundamental Constitutional Rights? Rethinking the Modern Interpretation of the Right to Assemble and the Role Police Should Play in Protecting that Right” by Jesse Proctor, a 3L and associate editor focuses on an erosion of the First Amendment’s Assembly Clause that coincides with militarization of local police departments.

Editor-in-Chief Emily Derstine Friesen and other members of the editorial board worked on developing the streamlined design of the new website over the course of the last year.
