Professor Amy Landers presented “Private Value Determinations and the Potential Effect on the Future of Research and Development” as part of a discussion series at Yale Law’s Information Society Project on April 23.

The paper explores the possibility that the emerging patent market – while spurring innovation and benefits to the public – has the potential to destabilize patent values just as “bubbles” have undermined other markets in the past.

The director of the law school’s Intellectual Property Law Program, Landers is the author of “Understanding Patent Law,” now in its second edition, and co-author of “Global Issues in Intellectual Property Law” and “Global Issues in Patent Law.”
