Professor Norman Stein and a colleague will present a paper, “Two Hats, One Head, No Heart: The Architecture of the Settlor/Fiduciary Doctrine” at the University of Michigan on March 22. 

Stein and his co-author, Dana Muir of the University of Michigan, will both present their work at a conference, Regulation of Benefit Plans: The Most Consequential Subject to Which No One Pays Enough Attention. 

From March 20 to 22, Stein will take part in the American Bar Association Joint Committee on Employee Benefits Government Invitational Conference in Baltimore.  The conference will explore the impact of pension and health policy on the middle class. 

A nationally recognized authority on pension law, benefits law and tax law, Stein is chairman-elect of the Association of American Law Schools Section on Employee Benefits and Executive Compensation and a member of the General Accounting Office’s Expert Panel on Retirement Security.
