An opinion essay that Professor Anil Kalhan wrote has been nominated for an Outstanding Editorial/Commentary Award from the South Asian Journalists Association.

Kalhan’s piece, “’Truly Civil’ Torture,” was published in the ImmigrationProf Blog in December 2012.

Journalists from the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post and The Atlantic are among the nominees for awards. The winners will be announced at a gala in New York City on Oct. 5.

Kalhan won a SAJA award in 2008 and was nominated for another in 2011.
