Career ServicesA Message from the Career and Professional Development Office:

The Career and Professional Development Office (“CPDO”) at Earle Mack School of Law is staffed by full-time professionals, all of whom have practiced law in the Philadelphia area. The career counselors in the CPDO are committed to providing Drexel Law students with the most comprehensive and contemporary programs in career planning and professional development, while also offering individualized assistance to all students and alumni in finding internships and jobs.

Statistics on the Inaugural Class: Class of 2009
1L Summer (2007): More than 90% of the inaugural class either worked in law-related jobs or took summer classes abroad or at Drexel. Of the law-related jobs, nearly 30 students worked for judges (both federal and state), 30 students worked for law firms, and more than 10 students each worked for corporations, government agencies, or public interest organizations. Twelve students worked as research assistants for professors and another eight students worked in miscellaneous jobs (i.e., jobs such as doing legal research for a documentary film company).

Statistics on the Class of 2010
Summer internship hiring for 1Ls is going strong within the Philadelphia area and nationwide. So far, our 1Ls have secured internships with Third Circuit and Eleventh Circuit Judges, several federal district court and magistrate judges, the Philadelphia Public Defender’s Office, the Lieutenant Governor’s Office of Pennsylvania, and several public interest organizations. Other 1L students will be studying abroad or at Drexel or will be spending their 2008 summer in a Co-Op Placement.
