The annual tuition rate reported to the ABA is a converted amount, based on the average number of credits required each year for degree completion.  The cost of attendance for a first year student is typically higher than the cost for the student's subsequent second and third year because the law school’s curriculum design requires first year law students to take more credits than second and third year students.  Therefore, since Drexel University uses a per credit billing system, the total tuition in the first year is slightly higher than the annual average tuition rate for the second and third year. Plus, students also pay a general fee per academic year.

Here is a three year tuition model based on the tuition numbers and fees for the 2013-2014 academic year:

  • Year One
    • Credit Hours Required: 30
    • Tuition Cost: $40,230
  • Year Two
    • Credit Hours Required: 28
    • Tuition Cost: $37,548
  • Year Three
    • Credit Hours Required: 27
    • Tuition Cost: $36,207
  • Average Over Three Years
    • Credit Hours: 28.33
    • Tuition Cost: $37,995

While a law student may be employed while attending law school, per ABA standards, a law student may not work more than 20 hours per week during any semester in which he or she is taking nine or more credits.
