Academic Skills Program: Individualized Attention

All students Should succeed in law school.

The Director of Academic Skills Nancy C. Kraybill and Professor of Law and Writing Specialist Clare Keefe Coleman work with students individually, in small groups and in workshops on core academic skills such as legal writing and analysis, study skills, time and stress management and exam-taking skills.  Accomplished upper-level students provide first-year students with supplemental instruction in core subjects through our Dean's Scholars Program.

  • We develop individualized programs for students who seek support and we work with them to track their progress.
  • We also offer workshops targeted to the unique needs of first, second and third year students.

The program begins for 1Ls in August during Orientation, where students get an overview of the first-year law school experience, and continues during the Fall Workshop Series.

Workshops continue during the Spring semester for 1Ls and offer a broad array of academic skills that improve academic performance.
