Intellectual Property (IP) Law Program Amid a proliferation of novel technologies and new media, demand for expertise in intellectual property law has boomed. As new technologies enter the marketplace, they have a huge impact on individuals, businesses and lawyers, who are increasingly called upon to secure, regulate, and litigate those rights which stem from such innovation. It is vital that the aspiring lawyers are cognizant of these rapidly-changing developments and are given the skills and training to be able to adapt to this evolving landscape. Students complete a series of courses and experiential education opportunities that have been designed to provide both a depth of substantive knowledge and a breadth of experience with practical skills and IP law practice settings. Amy L. Landers Associate Dean for Faculty Research and Director of the Intellectual Property Law Program Professor Landers is an accomplished legal scholar and practitioner and serves as the Associate Dean for Faculty Research. She was previously distinguished professor of law and director of the Intellectual Property Law Concentration at the University of the Pacific’s McGeorge School of Law. Landers is an expert on patents and intellectual property law, and she is the author of “Understanding Patent Law,” now in its third edition, co-editor of "Intellectual Property and the Public Domain" and co-author of “Global Issues in Intellectual Property Law” and “Global Issues in Patent Law.” Her scholarship has appeared in varied publications, including Texas Law Review: See Also, George Mason Law Review and the Fordham Intellectual Property, Media and Entertainment Law Journal. She has presented her work at Stanford University, University of California-Berkeley School of Law and the University of Texas School of Law, among other venues.
