Faculty Teach at Continuing Education Programs on the Supreme Court

Professor Aimeé Kahan served on the faculty of the Second Annual U.S. Supreme Court Roundup, sponsored by the Pennsylvania Bar Institute on July 22 in Philadelphia.  Kahan joined colleagues from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, Temple University Law School, Widener University School of Law, and leading practitioners from the Philadelphia bar on the panel, focused on the Supreme Court’s 2012 term. 

The director of the upcoming Master of Legal Studies Program, Kahan teaches the following law school courses : Appellate Advocacy, Bioethics, Federal Courts, Legal Methods and Reproductive Rights Law.  Before joining the law school faculty, Kahan practiced appellate law in the state and federal courts with Reed Smith, LLP. 

Professor David S. Cohen served on the faculty of the City of Philadelphia Law Department's two-day CLE program on "Life in the Big City XVIII,” on July 12.  Cohen took part in a panel that discussed the Defense of Marriage Act and Proposition 8 as well as the Voting Rights Act, Title VII and the  Fourth and Fourteenth Amendments. 

Cohen is an expert on constitutional law, particularly as it applies to gender issues.
