Professor Adam Benforado Discusses Animal Punishment at Harvard Law School

April 13, 2011

Professor Adam Benforado, joined by University of Pennsylvania Professor Geoff Goodwin, presented "Punishing Jaws: Experiments on Retribution Against Nonhuman Perpetrators" at Harvard Law School on April 1, 2011.

The discussion, part of the Harvard Student Association for Law and Mind Sciences lecture series, highlighted research of retributive punishment imposed upon animals as a means to understand human intuitions about punishment.

Professor Benforado’s principal interest is in applying insights from the mind sciences - most notably embodied cognition, moral psychology and implicit social cognition - to law and legal theory.
