Visiting Canada
People from many countries are required to have a visa to enter Canada. Check the list below to see if you will need a Canadian visa to enter Canada.

Re-entering the U.S. after visiting Canada: Through a process called "automatic revalidation,", students with F-1 or J-1 visas may travel to Canada and re-enter the U.S. with an expired F-1 or J-1 visa as long as the visit to Canada was less than 30 days. However, if you apply for a new or renewal of an F-1 or J-1 visa and your application is denied, you CANNOT re-enter the U.S. with an expired visa. Therefore, we do not recommend that students try to renew their visas in Canada.
