    CallXpress Voicemail - University City Campus (only)

    On May 14th, 2007, Drexel University implemented a new voicemail system on the University City Campus -- CallXpress by Applied Voice & Speech Technologies, Inc. (AVST).  Below are instructions for setting up your voicemail box and greeting. Use the Quick Reference Guide link, in .pdf format, for the keypad commands you use for common message handling operations. Print it and keep it near your phone. In addition, there are frequently asked questions and answers along with instructional videos.

    Setting Up Your New Voice Mailbox and Greeting

    At the University City campus only voicemail boxes are 5-digits.  Generally it is the person’s extension preceded by a 3. (i.e., ext. 1234 has a voice mailbox of 31234).

    To set up your new voice mailbox and greeting:

    On Campus:

    • 1. From your own extension, dial extension 4900 or press the message key.

    • 2. Enter "Drexel" or 373935 as your "first time only" default security code.

    • 3. Listen for instructions on how to setup your 6 digit personal security code, name and personal
          greeting.

    Off Campus:

    • 1. Dial 215-895-4900. Listen to the recorded announcement. You may press 1 to listen to
          recorded instructions or stay on the line and follow those printed below.

    • 2. Enter your new voice mailbox number. Your new voice mailbox number will be your
          4-digit extension preceded by a 3 (i.e., ext. 1234 has a voice mailbox of 31234)

    • 3. Enter "Drexel" or 373935 as your "first time only" default security code.

    • 4. Listen for instructions on how to setup your personal security code, name and personal
          greeting.

    *** If you receive a message saying “Invalid Entry” while attempting to set up your mailbox, please contact the Telecommunications group at x5862 immediately. **

     

    Setting Up A Voice Mailbox Other than your Own

    • 1. From your own extension, dial 4900.

    • 2. When prompted to enter your security code, press *.

    • 3. Listen to the recorded announcement. You may press 1 to listen to instructions or stay on the
          line and follow those printed below.

    • 4. Enter the 5-digit mailbox you wish to set up. The new voice mailbox number will be the
          current 4-digit extension preceded by a 3.

    • 5. Enter "Drexel" or 373935 as your "first time only" default security code.

    • 6. Listen for instructions on how to set up the security code, mailbox name and greeting.
