MS Word 2000
You can alter the way that paragraphs are aligned:
They can be left aligned, in which the left hand side of a paragraph
is positioned so that consecutive lines line up neatly on the left,
but are staggered on the right.
Alternatively, paragraphs can be right aligned so
they line up beautifully on the right hand side of the page but
are staggered on the left. This looks strange as flowing text, but
is useful for addresses or dateson letters, etc.
Posters, poetry, and menus can have be centered
so that the lines of the paragraph are staggered
on the left and right, but are symmetrical about the center.
Or finally, paragraphs can be
fully Justified. Word will add tiny spaces between words so that
text is more or less perfectly aligned on both sides of a page.
