Getting the most from your WebCT installation?
Please join us for the Fourth Northeast Region WebCT Conference at George D. Behrakis Grand Hall, Drexel University, Philadelphia, PA. Thursday March 30, 2006. The conference is sponsored by the Office of Information Resources and Technology at Drexel University, Villanova University, and Bucks County Community College. As long time managers and users of multiple WebCT installations, and as part of our commitment to the product, we are happy to gather our colleagues and friends to share experiences and knowledge regarding the use of this premier content management system and other course supplements.
The conference will be of interest to several groups. A major focus of the conference will be on the broader strategic, institutional issues associated with implementing an institution-wide online course initiative and the associated technological, financial, and infrastructure issues accompanying such a project. This year's program will give special attention to the institutional and pedagogical changes throughout the academic program resulting from a major commitment to reengineering courses for partial, hybrid, or full online delivery.

As colleges and universities move beyond an ad hoc implementation of web-based and web-supported education to a plan which supports all aspects of the academic program, there are issues of support, equal access, scalability, and cultural impact which accompany such an initiative. This year's agenda will give special attention to these issues and present best practices and lessons learned from those who are "paving the way".
Three "tracks" will be offered so that attendees will be able to find content appropriate to their interests. These tracks include:
- A "Online Pedagogy" Track : Interested in what others are doing pedagogically? Want to see new ways to migrate the learning environment from face-to-face to elearning? This track will showcase pedagogical best practices and provide valuable knowledge about how to use WebCT to enhance the learner experience..
- An "Using Specific WebCT Tools " Track : WebCT "designers" will learn about advanced features of Campus Edition, the latest product generation, VISTA and will also learn about third party tools available to integrate with and enhance WebCT functionality and capability.
- A "Supporting and Administering Faculty and Student WebCT Use" Track : Looking for new ways to support WebCT faculty and students? Looking for tips on system , integration or system tuning. This track is for the techies, the instructional designers and other WebCT support personnel who are interested in the nuts and bolts of running a WebCT installation or supporting their implementation of WebCT through outreach and training.
