Overview of the Office of Information Resources and Technology
The Office of Information Resources and Technology (IRT) provides university-wide instructional, administrative, and research services using its robust computing and communications infrastructure. IRT is headed by Dr. John A. Bielec, the Vice President for Information Resources and Technology and Chief Information Officer (CIO) for Drexel University, and is comprised of three main groups.
A number of policies have been created to meet the academic and research needs of student and faculty, to support the administrative needs of the university, and to satisfy legal and operational requirements. Some of these policies are binding on all users while others apply only to users with specific access.
The main offices, classrooms, computing labs, and the help desk for IRT are located in the Korman Center on the University City campus; additional facilities are located on others campuses.
In addition to the operational services and facilities provided by IRT, our Strategic Agenda and Initiatives describe the way in which our services are evolving to better serve the university community.
IRT also works closely with the major functional offices on campus to manage projects and priorities and define new initiatives and also works closely with faculty to provide tools, training and support for faculty as they enrich their teaching with technology.
