Tech Alert: Phishing Scams
October 29, 2013
New phishing scams are changing and circulating every day. To prevent yourself from falling victim, exercise extreme caution with any email or request for personal information you receive.
Look for typos, bad grammar, links that don't match where they go, broken or shoddy images, or threats. NEVER give ANYONE your login credentials, no matter who requests it. Don't blindly click hyperlinks, and don't open attachments you weren't expecting to receive. Don't give anyone money or account information via email.
If you get a suspicious email, DELETE IT IMMEDIATELY, unanswered. See examples in the IRT Scam Gallery.
