Campus Housing Networks
ResNet Internet Access
ResNet provides a wired high speed Internet connection and the DragonFly wireless network for each student living in the Residence Halls and Greek Houses.
To ensure that computers are and remain safe, computers using ResNet wired Internet connections need to be registered and scanned once per quarter. This registration process will begin automatically the first time you connect your computer to a wired Internet connection each quarter. Thankfully, the process takes less than ten minutes and most of that time is waiting for a good health report from the security scanner.
To connect your computer to the wired network, connect your Ethernet cable into the jack which is typically located in the lower left (or just the lower) position of the wire station in your bedroom or common room. Please note, not all jacks in a wire station have active service. Check the list of active network jacks to see where service is enabled.
New in Fall 2011
-
Towers Hall: Due to the use of triple occupancy rooms, wired network service is enabled on three jacks in most rooms of Towers Hall. Check the active network jack list for Towers to see where service is enabled.
-
All Halls: One network jack is now enabled per wire station (i.e. faceplate) located in common rooms and lounges.
-
Campus Wide: A new DragonFly3 Installation Wizard simplifies the process of connecting Windows, Mac and iPhone/iPad/iTouch systems to the wireless network. Drexel community members can launch the DragonFly3 Installation Wizard from the open wireless guest network or from the IRT web site. The Drexel Guest network is available campus-wide including all residence halls.
Wireless network access exists throughout the Residence Halls and Greek Houses. See the DragonFly web site to learn how to enable wireless access for your computer.
