VPN for 64-bit Windows
Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client for 64-bit Windows
IRT is currently testing Cisco’s latest VPN software, which has full support for the 64-bit version of Windows. Although the new VPN software supports the 32-bit version of Windows, MacOS X, and Linux, at this time we are only recommending that users with Windows 64-bit clients switch to the new software.
- Using Internet Explorer, visit https://vpn.drexel.edu
- Click Login after entering your Drexel user-id and password. Select the group "DrexelVPN", which is usually the default option.
Note: For most users, your Drexel User-id is your initials followed by two or three numbers. Password is your Drexel Domain password.

- Click "Install AnyConnect". This will install the VPN client software and log you in to the VPN server.

You will see the the following icon in your System Tray when you are successfully connected to the VPN server:
You can disconnect your VPN session by right-clicking on the icon and selecting "disconnect".

If you are not connected to the VPN server the following icon will appear in the system tray:
You can initiate a connection by right-clicking the icon and then selecting "open".
The AnyConnect VPN installer will create a short cut to the VPN application in your Windows Start menu named "Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client".
Find and select the icon (above) in your Windows Start menu to launch the VPN application or to bring it to the foreground if the VPN server is already connected. Click "Start" or the Windows Button to access the Windows Start menu.
Launching the AnyConnect VPN Client from the Start Menu Program Folders
The AnyConnect VPN installer will create a folder named "Cisco" containing a short cut to the VPN application in your Programs Folder. From the Windows Start menu, select "Programs" or "All Programs", select the "Cisco" folder, select the "Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client" folder, and then select the "Cisco AnyConnect VPN Client" to launch the VPN application or to bring it to the foreground.
