What is Google Talk?

Google Talk is a free instant messenger client through which friends, family, and classmates can keep in touch from anywhere in the world. Through Google Talk, files can be transfered and voice mails can be left. Voice chat PC-to-PC is also available. If you use Google Music Trends, you can also display your music status with Google Talk.

Google Talk is not yet compatible with Mac or Linux systems, but other IM clients, such as Pidgin and Psi, are able to connect with Google Talk on both the Mac and Linux operating systems.
