Drexel Learn Turnitin
Turnitin checks students' work for improper citation or potential plagiarism. Files submitted to a Turnitin assignment dropbox are compared to an ever-growing database of web pages, newspapers, journals, books, and other students' papers. Each paper's comparison results are displayed with a color-coded chart indicating where similar blocks of text appear in Turnitin's database.
Turnitin includes a grading tool called GradeMark, which allows for online comments and feedback to be added directly to a student's submission. Instructors may also assign a grade to the student in GradeMark, which automatically flows to the Grade Center in Learn.
The Turnitin feature is available under the Assessments button in a content area.
Turnitin Direct Assignment
Turnitin Direct Assignment is the newer version of the legacy feature, Turnitin Assignment. Turnitin Direct is better integrated with Learn and thus has a more seamless look and feel. It also has the added feature of allowing instructors to copy a Turnitin assignment to future classes (this could not be accomplished in Turnitin Assignment). Currently it does not have the PeerMark feature (a tool that facilitates student peer review within Turnitin).
Currently still available only at Drexel, Turnitin Assignment is the legacy version. While it cannot be copied forward, it does still allow for PeerMark.
