Respondus

There are a few products that come to us from a company named Respondus. Their products help us to easily import quiz questions/answers into Drexel Learn, secure the online testing environment and to create interesting (and entertaining) learning objects.

Products line-up

Respondus 4.0

Respondus 4.0 is a powerful tool for creating and managing exams that can be printed to paper or published directly to Drexel Learn and other eLearning systems. Users build test questions and exams in an easy to use interface on their computer. These exams can then be published to multiple sections in a Learning Management System or printed for in class delivery. The software is available for Download from the Content Collection within Drexel Learn. Just navigate to Institution Content > Software > Respondus.

Respondus LockDown Browser

The Respondus LockDown Browser is a custom browser that locks down the end users computer while taking a test within Drexel Learn. Students are locked into the assessment and are unable to print, copy, open other browser windows, or access other applications. All Korman Center computers have RLB pre-installed. Students can download and install RLB on their own computers when they access an exam that has been setup with the RLB requirement.

StudyMate Class Server and Author

StudyMate Class Server — This is one of the more recent additions to our Respondus offerings. It is touted as the "ultimate study group" for Drexel Learn courses where teachers and students create study materials in a web-based, collaborative environment.  It is accessed directly in Drexel Learn as an additional tool.

StudyMate Author 2.0 — lets instructors create Flash-based activities and games using simple templates. The Flash activities are usable with any web server or can be published directly to Drexel Learn.  SM Author is essentially the earlier version of SM Class Server, without the collaboration piece.  The software is available for Download from the Content Collection within Drexel Learn. Just navigate to Institution Content > Software > Respondus.

Respondus Test Bank Network

Respondus Test Bank Network — contains over 1500 test banks for the leading textbooks in higher education.   The test banks are in Respondus format and can be downloaded for free by instructors who adopt a participating textbook.  Accessed through the Respondus.com website.

Visit  Respondus.com to view demo movies on all of these products.  The movies are short and well scripted.  You can also download quickstart documents and user guides for students, designers and instructors.
