Overview

  • Logging into Bb Vista - Bb Vista is a complex web application that requires some basic browser configuration.  View this video for assistance.
  • Bb Vista Home - When logged in to Bb Vista, you have access to a customizable home page that can give you information about what's happening inside your class space.
  • Navigating your Section - Bb Vista sections are fully customizable by your instructor, but there are some quick navigational tools available in every section.

Communication

  • Announcements - The announcement tool allows you instructor to send a common message to the entire class.
  • Discussions - Threaded discussions are often available in Bb Vista sections for continuing in class disscussions.  This primer shows how to post to and navigate a discussion topic.
  • Syllabus - Many instructors use this tool to post the couse syllabus, this video will review how to access posted syllabi.
  • Calendar - Every course section can have a calendar available.  But each user also has a personal calendar.  This primer will show you how to use the calendar tool in Bb Vista.
  • Course Mail - While Bb Vista is not a mail server, it does have a Mail tool for internal messaging.  This tutorial will acquaint you with the tool and how to set up forwarding to your personal mail.

Content

  • Learning Modules - Instructors can organize their content into linear modules called Learning Modules.  This video shows how these modules can be navigated.
  • Assignments - Some instructors may make use of the Assignment tool in BbVista for collecting work.  This video reviews the basics of an assignment and how you can submit your course work.
  • Assessments - Using the Assessment tool, instructors can deliver quizzes and tests through BbVista.  This video reviews the process of taking a test and tips for success.

Your Tools

  • My Grades - Every section in Bb Vista has an area for the instructor to post grades.  If your instructor is using it, the My Grades tool is your way to access your grades.
  • My Progress - Whenever you log in to the course, Bb Vista records what you do.  The My Progress tool if enabled by the instructor, can show you the areas of the course that you may have missed.
  • Notes - This online notebook tool allows you to make notes anywhere in the course.  Next time you are there you can open up the notes you took in that spot or flip through all of your notes for the course.
  • My Files - Every user has private storage space on the Bb Vista server.  You can store drafts of materials here and then login from any computer and retrieve them.
