Backing Up Personally-Owned Computers
To help faculty, students and staff avoid an unfortunate loss of data and information from their personally-owned computers, Drexel has partnered with IPR International to make backup and recovery services available to the Drexel Community. IRT offers a similar service for university-owned computers assigned to faculty and staff.
Connected Backup is a hands-free, automatic, tamper-proof backup solution designed to backup and centralize distributed laptop and desktop data, restore data as recent as the last backup event, and defend against the consequences of virus attack by storing all captured data in one of IPR International’s secure off-site vaults.
Connected Backup operates transparently to users, administrators and infrastructure. Backups are user scheduled, and end-users can work as they always have – without training on procedures. Self-serve file recovery brings users back to productivity quickly and independent of any assistance.
The cost of the Connected Backup/PC service ranges from $29.95/year to $374.50/year depending on the amount of storage needed. Use the service on any PC and never lose important files again! And, you’ll do it all without having to buy, label, and store CDs, Zip disks, or other media.
