Drexel email can be accessed via DrexelOne, via Webmail, or through a configured email client (see http://ask.drexel.edu, click on “Current Students, Faculty, and Staff,” and search for “configure an email client”).
Drexel University communicates important information to students, faculty, and staff via electronic mail; it is your responsibility to read your Drexel email regularly, either directly or by forwarding it to another account.
One of your Drexel accounts is your Drexel Official Email Address in the format first.middle.last@drexel.edu (if a middle name or initial was provided with your personal data). Your username, in the format fml234, is linked to the same email account (i.e., fml234@drexel.edu). Email sent to either first.middle.last@drexel.edu or username@drexel.edu will arrive at the same mailbox.
In addition, you may create one personal alias for each email account. For example, if your last name is Smith, you might try the personal alias smith@drexel.edu. Email sent to that address will go to the same mailbox as your official Drexel email address.
To manage your Drexel email settings, log in to http://accounts.drexel.edu with your Drexel username and password. Here you can:
- Pick up new accounts
- Change your password or set up the Password Reset Wizard
- Choose a personal email alias
- Forward incoming mail to another email account
- Check your mail storage usage and limit (quota)
Drexel Domain access is granted when you activate your Drexel computer accounts at http://accounts.drexel.edu. Drexel Domain accounts allow access to networked printing, site-licensed software on file servers, the wireless network, lab computers, and other shared services that require authentication.
File/Web storage can be accessed via dunx1, the academic Unix server. Dunx1 provides space for personal and course-related home pages, as well as personal file storage and specialized, server-based software. Pick up a Unix server account at http://accounts.drexel.edu.
The address for a personal home page on the server is of the format http://www.pages.drexel.edu/~username. Publishing instructions are available at http://www.drexel.edu/irt/web/personal/configureAccount.
Departmental or organizational accounts may be requested by contacting accounts@drexel.edu. For questions, call IRT’s Help Desk at 215-895-2020.
