Sebastian Oswald. First Graduate of the Dual Ph.D. Program with Ilmenau University, Germany
I would like to thank you again for your time and your support for the new dual Ph.D. program. It was a pleasure to meet with you and Dr. Julie Mostov last week and I am leaving Drexel with great memories. I have successfully finished my Ph.D. and started a new position as postdoctoral associate at MIT in Boston, Massachusetts. My accomplishments would not have been possible without the help and support of so many people from Drexel University, as well as from Ilmenau University of Technology, Germany. I am deeply grateful to the faculty and staff of both universities, especially my advisor Dr. Yury Gogotsi, who has been an outstanding mentor; and Dr. Julie Mostov and Dr. Bahram Nabet for putting forward the dual Ph.D. program and enabling the collaboration between Drexel and Ilmenau.
Dr. Scharff, the Rector of Ilmenau University, enjoyed his visit at Drexel and was impressed by the research opportunities, but also by the cultural diversity of the research groups and the teamwork here at Drexel.
Thank you again for all your support and thanks to Drexel for the great opportunities and three exciting years in Philadelphia!
My best wishes to you and to the students, faculty, and staff at Drexel. I am looking forward to see you again during the graduation ceremony in June.
