Dr. Joseph Hancock, Design and Merchandising - Assistant Professor
Dr. Joseph Hancock, recipient of the Scholar’s Roundtable from the Costume Society of America
“Building an international reputation is so important to your success! Only having been at Drexel University for five years, I have been very fortunate to have been a visiting professor in the department of Design, Architecture and Building at the University of Technology in Sydney, Australia and the Centre for Fashion for Fashion Studies at Stockholm University in Sweden. Both universities have allowed me to grow as an academic exposing me to new students, allowing me to see how the fashion discipline is taught using different methods and curriculums. I have thoroughly enjoyed both the faculty and the students who have eagerly embraced my teaching in my primary research areas of fashion branding, popular culture, mass fashion, merchandising and international retailing. I encourage all my colleagues at Drexel University to establish their own contacts through conferences, research and scholarship not only establishing them as an international scholar, but also growing Drexel University as a premier institution of learning across the globe!” – Joe Hancock
