Drexel University representatives are participating in a delegation to China led by Philadelphia Mayor Michael A. Nutter in an effort to raise Philadelphia's international profile, develop business opportunities and renew discussions about direct flights between the city and that country. Read More.

On November 27th OIP joined Steinbright Career Development Center, Study Abroad, and the Office of Alumni Relations in an informational session geared toward co-op and study abroad opportunities in East and Southeast Asia. This event, held in the atrium of Bossone, encouraged the discussion of these expanding opportunities for both work and study. Peter J. A Drexel delegation led by Vice Provost Julie Mostov is traveling to Xiamen and Shanghai, China! This important visit will focus primarily on expanding global health opportunities to Xiamen University and building on our existing Shanghai Jiao Tong University partnership to include the College of Engineering and the School of Public Health. Drexel University Professor Paula Marantz Cohen is granted unprecedented access to China's two most prestigious universities---Tsinghua University and Peking University---where students candidly discuss their attitudes and goals. The subjects provide a picture of the upcoming generation of China's educated elite, as well as a window on the future of China.

Amanda Pentecost, a senior in Drexel’s Department of Materials Science and Engineering, knew growing up that she wanted to be a researcher. This desire led her to Drexel, and to Dr. Yury Gogotsi, professor and director of the A.J. Drexel Nanotechnology Institute.
