Online Learning Council

The Online Learning Council (OLC) was created in 2009 and now has nearly 100 faculty, TAs, and professional staff members from across the university. The Council's Purpose is to inform and enhance the academic experience Drexel faculty and students enjoy, particularly with respect to the ways in which the infusion of technology and advanced pedagogies can support that achievement.

To provide a formal structure for faculty, staff, and administrators from across the university to explore, design, and present to key Drexel stakeholders, innovative solutions to critical challenges in technology-enhanced learning.

The Drexel University Online Learning Council (OLC) is an inclusive array of dedicated academic and administrative representatives from across Drexel University, charged with improving the technology-enhanced learning experience for faculty, staff, and students. Their efforts will enable the university to re-envision online and hybrid learning, in line with the goals it has set out in Drexel’s 2013-2017 Strategic Plan. The OLC operates under the aegis of the Interregional Guidelines for evaluating distance education; criteria set forth by accreditors; and compliance requirements designated by various agencies. It works collaboratively, through its committees, to resolve any challenges brought forward by its membership. Likewise, OLC members are responsible for development, demonstrating, and sharing strategies that will have a positive and lasting impact on the overall quality of Drexel’s online, hybrid, and technology-enhanced face-to-face courses.
