The Purpose of each OLC Committee will enable the OLC Mission to become a reality through Committee members discovering, vetting, sharing, supporting, and showcasing (disseminating) ways in which Drexel educators and administrators can most effectively enhance the Drexel student experience in their respective areas. Below is a list of the committees, their purpose, and the name of the chair(s) of the committee with contact information.
The Accessibility Committee supports the OLC Mission by focusing on elevating Drexel faculty and administrator awareness of the critical areas of accessibility, usability, and readability for all Drexel students in online, hybrid, or enhanced F2F courses. The Committee can provide easy-to-follow and readily-implementable steps, processes, and procedures (with professional guidance and support) that practitioners can take, at escalating levels of challenge and breadth, to make their courses more accessible, usable, and readable – for all students.

The Communication Committee supports the OLC Mission by focusing on broadly informing the Drexel University community about the developments, findings, and recommendations put forward by the OLC, its leadership, its Committees, and the OLC Fellows.

The Quality Committee supports the OLC Mission by focusing on developing strategies for effective teaching and learning in high-quality environments (design) and in effective ways (delivery) that elevate the online, hybrid, or enhanced face-to-face (F2F) course offerings.

This important sub-group is focused on leveraging and communicating existing and established Drexel policies on academic honesty and integrity. Further, it is charged with discovering new approaches and methodologies to address academic integrity, vetting those, and bringing forward reasonable and effective approaches that faculty can use in their courses with their students. They effectively use an approach that (1) begins with using what Drexel has already created, then (2) spreading the word on technologies that some academic units at Drexel already utilize and favor, and then (3) making it their focus to discover what new literature, technologies, or pedagogies are emerging that hit the academic integrity/honesty landscape.

The Retention Committee supports the OLC Mission by focusing on examining data related to student success and persistence. Findings will lead to developing and recommending intervention activities that can be launched in effective ways by Drexel faculty and/or staff at the course, program, department, college/school, or institution levels, as appropriate.

The Scalability Committee supports the OLC Mission by focusing on discovering, vetting, piloting, and publishing recommendations on how educators and administrators can most effectively (1) scale up enrollments in courses and programs, (2) run additional sections of a course, (3) offer additional courses in a program, or (4) increase programs offered by a department, school, or college, all while maintaining or enhancing online, hybrid, or enhanced F2F course quality and concomitantly managing faculty workload.
