THE PROFESSOR HUN H. SUN FUND

Life Saving Solutions and Drexel: The Professor Hun H. Sun Fund

Drexel University is proud to announce the establishment of the Professor Hun H. Sun Fund.  Drawing on the legacy of Professor Sun, founder of Drexel’s biomedical engineering program, the Fund will support translational research in the School of Biomedical Engineering, Science, and Health System (BIOMED)—one of Drexel’s most interdisciplinary and research-active divisions.  Translational research is an important ‘missing link’ bridging academic research with the development of new products, technologies, and companies.  With the support of the Sun Fund, our faculty and students are collaborating with clinicians and business partners to develop the life saving, life enhancing solutions that will empower tomorrow’s hospitals and health-care providers.

The Professor Hun H. Sun Fund helps create Life Saving Solutions by:

  • Advancing the development of important new technologies for the medical field;
  • Providing Drexel faculty with needed funding to support world-class research with a high likelihood of clinical applications; and
  • Positioning Drexel as a key academic partner in the Greater Philadelphia Region’s pharmaceutical and biomedical business development.

How to Make a Gift

You may designate your gift:

  • To Build the Endowment
    An endowed fund is invested in perpetuity, and each year a percentage of its value is dispersed to advance the fund’s purpose, so that it serves as a permanent resource for the institution.  Click here to make an online gift.
  • For Current Use
    Current use funds are spent immediately and in their entirety to support the most pressing projects.  Click here to make an online gift.

You can also mail a check to: Drexel University, P.O. Box 8215, Philadelphia, PA 19101-9684 with a note in the memo line for The Professor Hun H. Where Your Dollars Go

Recognizing the founder of Drexel’s biomedical engineering program, the Professor Sun funds will be awarded to Drexel BIOMED research projects through a vetting process that will validate both the project’s viability in the marketplace and its potential to address unmet medical needs.
