We are excited to kick-off of the Chinese Year of the Dragon on January 23 with our first event, Dragons @ Work. Dragons @ Work is a special one-day event that celebrates the career success of Drexel alumni and current co-op students who work together. We already have more than 30 companies signed up to participate, and there is room for many more! Click here for more information on Dragons @ Work, and to see a list of participating companies. All I Really Need to Know I Learned at Drexel

As part of Drexel's Year of the Dragon, the Alumni Association is compiling a list of 366 Life Lessons (2012 is a leap year) that our alumni learned at Drexel. Most people have heard of, "All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten," but we like to think that all you really need to know you actually learned at Drexel. If you agree, click here to send some of your Drexel life lessons to us, and we'll consider adding them to our list. We'll share the life lessons on our Web site and on Facebook and Twitter starting on the first day of 2012 and continuing each day until December 31.

Year of the Dragon Promo Codes and Commemorative Prizes

Throughout the Year of the Dragon, you will have the opportunity to receive secret codes that can be redeemed for commemorative Year of the Dragon items. A code will be given each time you participate in a Year of the Dragon signature experience either in person, online, or via social media. For every 3, 6, and 9 codes you collect, you will receive a commemorative item, and once you collect all 12 codes, you will be entered into our grand prize drawing at the end of the year! More

Travis MohrTravis Mohr
Civil Engineering 2004

If you want proof of the power of positive thinking and goal setting — look no further than the story of Drexel graduate and Paralympic gold medallist, Travis Mohr.

Travis was born with an extremely rare condition. He has no femur bones in his legs and, at 30 years old, stands at 4 feet 3 inches tall. The femur, or thigh bone, is the largest bone in the human body and without it, common activities such as running, kicking or jumping are impossible.

"When I was growing up no one really knew what I'd be able to handle because my condition was so rare," Travis said. "Doctors were worried that I would end up in a wheelchair because my legs wouldn't be strong enough to support my upper body as I grew." More
