Drexel Students Develop "Mind-Control" Interface to Play Video Games The device looks like a headband and is equipped with sensors that measure brain activity. By shining near-infrared light into the skull and measuring the intensity of light reflected back, oxygen levels corresponding to brain activity can be recorded. The device, originally developed by Drexel's biomedical engineers to monitor the brain of patients under anesthesia, serves as a controller for the Drexel-developed video game Lazybrains. More. |

Food for Thought: Global Warming — A Personal History On October 1, 2008, join Drexel alumni for lunch and a discussion in the Paul Peck Alumni Center with Dr. James Spotila, Professor in the Department of Bioscience & Biotechnology, Betz Chair Professor of Environmental Science and Director of the Center for Biodiversity and Conservation at the College of Arts & Sciences. Dr. Spotila will discuss global warming, which is one of the most important environmental issues of our time. Ellen Forman Memorial Dance Studio Opening Event Join us for the opening of the Ellen Forman Memorial Dance Studio on Friday, October 3, 2008. The studio opening event will give attendees an opportunity to see the newly renovated studio, while connecting or reconnecting with Drexel Dance alumni and friends. The evening presentation will take place from 7 to 9 p.m. in Mandell Theater and will include a live performance of excerpts from dances by Ellen Forman, presented by Drexel students, and a video tribute to Ms. Forman. University Archives Highlights Papers of Six Drexel Presidents University Archives is excited to announce that the newly processed papers of six Drexel presidents, covering the 50-year period from 1913 to 1963, are now available for viewing online thanks in part to a major grant from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission overseen by the Pennsylvania Humanities Council.
