Drexel Night at the Phillies

Enjoy an early fall night at the ballpark on Monday, September 26. Welcome the class of 2010 as alumni, students and friends meet at Citizens Bank Park as the Phillies take on the New York Mets. "Catch" the pre-game alumni happy hour at McFadden`s outdoor patio before Drexel throws out the first pitch. For more information or to register, click here.



Interactive Drexel Campus
Too busy to visit your alma mater? Now you can come back to campus without ever leaving your computer. We're pleased to announce a new interactive campus map for a high-tech trip back to Drexel. With this new program you can explore the campus and with a simple click, learn the history of the buildings- old and new. Campus has changed dramatically in the last decade, including the addition and/or renovation of nearly a dozen buildings. Take a few minutes to explore and check out the campus. Pennoni Honors College Launches Dragonfire
Drexelink - Dragonfire, The Pennoni Honors College bi-weekly online publication that combines digital technology and traditional journalism in an interactive magazine, was launched on July 5. Amy Webb, former Newsweek and Asian Wall Street Journal reporter, is the editor. The publication features columns by renowned experts in their field and articles from reporters stationed around the world which can be translated into eight languages; Romanian, Russian, Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Hindi, Greek and Turkish. Dragonfire is the only interactive journalism site available online. This user-friendly site offers visitors the opportunity to listen to authors read their submissions via clicking on Mp3 links. It currently works with more than 100 established print, radio and video journalists, graphic artists and photographers from 30 countries. John McAdams, Voice of Drexel Basketball, Passes Away
DrexelDragons.com - Philadelphia, Pa.--The Drexel University Athletic Department mourns the passing of John McAdams (pictured left). The Dragons' basketball public address announcer for more than 20 years died on June 16th at his home in Pennsylvania. John was a fixture at the Daskalakis Athletic Center for more than two decades. He called both the men's and women's basketball games and was a fan favorite as the voice of the Dragons. John was known throughout the country as the voice of Big 5 basketball. John is currently the leading fan nominee for inclusion on the 2005 election ballot for the Philadelphia Sports Hall of Fame. Visit www.phillyhof.org/nominee.asp to submit a nomination. More.



Sydney Mae Foundation Golf Outing
On Saturday, September 10, The Sydney Mae Taylor Foundation will host its annual fall golf outing at the Town and Country Golf Links in Woodstown, NJ. Drexel alumni, parents and friends are invited to take part in this charity event. The Sydney Mae Foundation, founded by Erin '94 (CoAS) and Jay Taylor '95 (LCoB), was established in honor of their daughter who passed away soon after being diagnosed with Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS) a congenital heart defect. Freshman Send-Offs
This September, alumni countrywide will celebrate with incoming freshman who will soon arrive on campus as college students. Freshman Send-Offs will be hosted by alumni clubs from San Francisco to Philadelphia. Locally, students and their families are welcomed at ice cream socials where they will have a chance to ask questions and get the "scoop" from alumni. Chris Fandozzi '93(LCoB) executive vice president of Bassett's Ice Cream, will supply the company's "finest super premium" ice cream for hundreds of students.



Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival
On Saturday, October 1, from 8 a.m. - 6:30 p.m., Drexel will celebrate its second year paddling on the Schuylkill at the Fourth Annual Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival.  You don’t need to be on the team to participate. Come join us in the Drexel tent to cheer on five boats of alumni, faculty and students as we compete against 128 teams racing for charity.  This is a free event, so come throughout the day and bring your blankets, chairs and picnic baskets.  Soft drinks and grills will be provided.  Hope to see you there!  For more information or to register, click here.

As we head into fall, we invite you to join us with friends and family at our annual Family Fun Days. This year we offer two great venues for alumni families to gather, pick pumpkins and enjoy a hay ride. Meet us on Saturday, October 22 for the Alumni Pumpkinfest at Shady Brook Farms in Yardley, PA or Sunday, October 23 at Linvilla Orchards in Media, PA for our Alumni Pumpkinland. California`s Baseball Classic
Be sure to join Northern California alumni as they root, root, root for the home team at SBC Park in San Francisco, CA. Watch the San Francisco Giants take on the Philadelphia Phillies on Wednesday, August 24. Look for the Drexel Banners and meet us before the game at 4:30 p.m. for an alumni tailgate in “B” lot. Wind down the days of summer as the Drexel University Alumni Club of South Jersey and the College of Engineering Alumni Association invite you down the shore. Explore the Wonders of the Galaxy
Connect with Northern California alumni on Saturday, October 15 for an evening of star gazing. The Chabot Space & Science Center, an innovative teaching and learning center focusing on astronomy and the space sciences in Oakland, will open its doors to Drexel alumni for a special viewing through one of their largest telescopes and a tour of the starry sky in a state-of-the-art 70 foot dome planetarium. Alumni Meet King Tut on Tour
Join us in taking a step back into ancient Egypt to experience history like it has never been seen before, through the eyes of King Tut. College of Medicine E-Mentoring Program
This recent addition to the Drexel Univeristy College of Medicine program connects students and alumni through email. It provides a way for students to correspond with alumni about career issues, shadowing experiences and life as scientists and physicians.
