Dr. William Lynch Named Dean of Goodwin College
After a year-long national search, Goodwin College is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. William Lynch as dean, effective July 1, 2007. Dr. Lynch came to Drexel as director of the School of Education in 2004, bringing more than 30 years of experience as a public school teacher, professor of education, and higher education administrator. He has contributed to the field of education through numerous research and curriculum development projects, presentations, and publications. More
College of Medicine Launches Monthly Medical Podcast
Drexel University College of Medicine has become the first medical school in the Philadelphia region to launch a monthly medical podcast. The Drexel MedcastSM will feature leading academic physicians and scientists from the Drexel University College of Medicine faculty discussing various medical topics. A new topic and faculty member will be selected and featured each month. More
Drexel Plans New Building with Living Biofilter
Drexel unveiled plans for a $60 million building that will include a “Bio Wall” or living biofilter for energy efficiency and improved indoor air quality. Canadian-based Diamond & Schmitt Architects are the designers of the landmark structure to be built on the northeast corner of 33rd and Chestnut Streets. Groundbreaking for the project is scheduled this fall. The new Integrated Sciences Building will incorporate classrooms, science labs and offices. The building will be the first at a university in the United States to include a Bio Wall. More

Dragon Boat Festival
Come out to the Schuylkill River on Saturday, October 6, 2007 for a day of family fun. Cheer on four dragon boats of Drexel University and College of Medicine alumni and friends in the 6th Annual Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival. Watch as we paddle to our 4th consecutive victory as Collegiate Challenge Champions! Races begin at 8:00 a.m. and continue throughout the day.
