Golden Dragon Society Events for the Class of 1960

Members of the Class of 1960 are invited to celebrate 50 years of memories with breakfast and a special presentation by the University Archivist. Sponsored by the Great Court Society. Then, head over to the Main Building for a group photograph on its original staircase.

Golden Dragon Luncheon
Friday, April 30, 2010; 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
All members of the Golden Dragon Society are invited to join the Class of 1960 in honoring its 50th Reunion at the annual Society luncheon. Class members will be inducted into the Golden Dragon Society and personally presented with Society pins.

Campus Bus Tour
Friday, April 30, 2010; 3 to 4 p.m.
Reserve your seat on the Drexel shuttle for a guided tour of the University City Campus.  Relax and take-in 50 years of growth and change.

Golden DragonsOld and New Tour of Philadelphia
Saturday, May 1, 2010; 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Join your classmates for a day in the city, exploring landmark sites in Philadelphia! See how the City of Brotherly Love has changed and stayed the same over the past 50 years during a bus tour from Fairmount Park to Center City to Old City, including a ride through Fairmount Park to Boat House Row, a tour of Philadelphia Waterworks and the Comcast Center, and visits to the Constitution Center and the Liberty Bell. Please note that this event may involve walking within each tour stop, though a shuttle bus will provide transportation between each.

Alumni Wine Tasting and Dinner
Friday, April 30, 2010; 6 to 8 p.m.
Gather with fellow alumni for a special dinner and wine-tasting in Drexel's student-run restaurant and lounge, the Academic Bistro. Enjoy a decadent three-course meal prepared by the students and complimented by the perfect wines. Limited spaces available!

Nursing and Health Professions Reunion Cocktail Party and Dinner
Friday, April 30, 2010; 6 to 9 p.m.
Alumni from the College of Nursing and Health Professions, along with their spouses or significant others, are invited to meet and renew friendships over cocktails, conversation and an elegant dinner at the exciting Philadelphia venue, the Pyramid Club.

University City 5K18th Annual University City 5K Run
Saturday, May 1, 2010; 9 a.m. Race Registration, 11 a.m. Race Start
Established in 1993 in memory of Drexel student Nick Pipino, the run supports the Nicholas P. Pipino Memorial Scholarship Fund. Runners, strollers and spectators are all encouraged to participate and, after the run, to join us for awards presentations and the Alumni Family Picnic. Runners can click here to register.

Pack up your kids and grandkids for food, friends and fun at the Alumni Family Picnic! Take your chance to win exciting raffle prizes and enjoy activities sponsored by Drexel's colleges and schools in Drexel's Quad. Rain location: Daskalakis Athletic Center, North Gym, 33rd and Market Streets

Attendees will be entered into a drawing for special raffle prizes, including our Grand Prize: A Nintendo Wii Prize Package, complete with Wii console, Wii Fit with balance board and Mario Kart, sponsored by The Drexel University Alumni Association. Drexel Media Groups Reunion
Saturday, May 1, 2010; 2 to 4 p.m.
All former members of the school newspaper, The Triangle, and other Drexel student media groups like the yearbook, and radio/TV stations, are invited back to campus for an afternoon of reminiscing, featuring special guest and former student writer for The Triangle Chuck Barris '53, Hon. '01. Mr. Barris is the legendary producer of The Gong Show, The Dating Game, and The Newlywed Game, among others, and author of several books, including "You and Me", "Babe" and the autobiographies "The Game Show King: A Confession" and "Confessions of a Dangerous Mind: An Unauthorized Autobiography".

All are welcome to join Interim President C.R. "Chuck" Pennoni '63, '66, Hon '92, and members of the Alumni Board of Governors in honoring the recipients of the 2010 Alumni Association Awards.  This year the ceremony will be held in the Paul Peck Alumni Center. Following the ceremony, join guests and fellow alumni for the Alumni Cocktail Reception in the Great Court.

Silver Dragon Class of 1985 Reception and Pinning Ceremony
Saturday, May 1, 2010; 4 to 7 p.m.
Members of the Class of 1985 are invited to celebrate their 25th Reunion with a reception in their honor. Recall your days at Drexel and Hahnemann and MCP Schools of Nursing with the sounds of etc…, featuring fellow classmates David Brenner '85, Tom Marks '85 and Len Miller '85. Celebrate as class members are inducted into the Silver Dragon Society with a pinning ceremony commemorating this special occasion. Afterwards, dance the night away at the University Gala!

Blast-off at our University Gala dinner-dance! Join friends, both new and old, for our out-of-this world bash, with a three-course dinner followed by an evening of dancing to the sounds of The Fabulous Greaseband®. Dress is cocktail attire. Attendees must be 21 or older.
