Drexel Alumni Day at "Star Wars"
Join fellow alumni, friends and families in a galaxy far, far away as we explore “Star Wars: Where Science Meets Imagination” at The Franklin Institute on Saturday, March 29, 2008. The innovative exhibition uses the futuristic imaginings of one of the world’s most successful film franchises as a lens into the future of robotics and travel. Drexel Freshman Applications Increase a Record 27 Percent over Last Year
As high school students around the country wait to hear if they have been accepted to their college of choice, Drexel announced a record-level of applicants for the fall 2008. Freshman applications rose 27 percent making Drexel a choice for more than 24,186 high school students. The University will admit 2,500 freshmen in September 2008.
Building on 10 years of continuous growth in application and enrollment numbers, Drexel has emerged as one of the hottest schools in Greater Philadelphia, which has 83 colleges and universities. More
MAD Dragon Records Expands Ground-Breaking Relationship with Rykodisc and Cordless Recordings
Drexel's student-run record label has expanded its unique relationship with Ryko Distribution. The faculty-administered label and executives from Rykodisc and Cordless Recordings will now work closely to produce, market and promote emerging and established artists. Rykodisc will have an exclusive, first-look opportunity to sign artists from the MAD Dragon roster. Singer/songwriter Matt Duke is the first MAD Dragon artist to be signed under this agreement and will release his Rykodisc album debut later this year. More

The Board oversees the Alumni Association’s efforts to engage, advance and support the campus community and its alumni and students through a variety of programs, services and awards as well as opportunities for volunteerism and advocacy.

Ready...Set...Go Register for the University City 5K Run!
The Run will take place during Blue & Gold Alumni Weekend on Saturday, May 3, 2008, and all proceeds benefit the Nicholas P. Pipino Memorial Scholarship Fund. The University City 5K began 16 years ago to honor Nick Pipino, a Drexel student who was killed in 1992. Experienced runners, amateurs and even walkers are all welcome!
The Run will be followed by the Alumni Family Picnic which is free and open to the public. Come enjoy an afternoon of family fun with games, prizes, food and entertainment! Runners can register here.

Save the Date for the CAN DU Earth Day Project
The Community Alumni Network at Drexel University (CAN DU) invites alumni to join students and friends to celebrate Earth Day 2008. On Saturday, April 12, 2008, volunteers will participate in a service project to restore and preserve a portion of Fairmount Park in Philadelphia. The day will begin at 8 a.m. with an orientation session and continental breakfast in the Drexel Quad. Dragon Boat Festival: Call for Paddlers
JOIN OUR TEAM! Build teamwork, spirit and pride as part of the 7th Annual Philadelphia International Dragon Boat Festival and help Drexel alumni, students, faculty, and friends paddle to our 5th consecutive Collegiate Challenge Championship! The Festival will be held on Saturday, October 4, 2008, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on the Schuylkill River in Philadelphia.
