Drexel Digest -Drexel University College of Medicine's new online job posting and employment site, DrexelMedJobs, has been posted to the College of Medicine Web site. This new employment site will now be used by internal and external applicants applying for Drexel University College of Medicine staff positions. The site can be accessed through the College of Medicine homepage or directly by clicking here. It is available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Dragons Win Two Eight-Run Rule Shortened Games
DrexelDragons.com - Drexel (2-4) softball picked up its first wins of the 2005 season in convincing fashion, sweeping a pair of eight-run rule shortened games over the University of Maryland - Eastern Shore (0-2). In game one, freshman Molly Dacey, pictured to the left, powered the Dragons to a 14-2 victory with a homerun in the top of the second inning. Elizabeth Fuller scattered two hits over three innings of work and struck out five batters. She also went 1-for-3 from the plate and drove in three runs. Public Health School Earns Award
Drexel’s School of Public Health will be honored by the College of Physicians of Philadelphia at ceremonies on Thursday, April 7, at 6 p.m. The Section on Public Health and Preventive Medicine will present its award recognizing the School of Public Health for significant contributions to the public health of the region.
The Mandell Theater Presents Dance Conduit
On April 8-9 at 8 p.m. Drexel University and the Mandell Theater will present Dance Conduit in its inaugural presentation. Dance Conduit was created through a partnership between Drexel University’s Department of Performing Arts, and Philadelphia’s own Dance Conduit. The concert will feature six pieces, all performed to live music, which will showcase the works of Humphrey-Limon, as well as Dance Conduit alumni. Tickets for the performance are $15 general admission. Tickets are available by calling 215-895-2787..
Humanism and Professionalism in Medicine
The College of Medicine invites alumni to the Humanism and Professionalism in Medicine seminar featuring the film “The Choice Is Yours: The Life and Philosophy of Viktor Frankl, M.D., Ph.D.”, one of the world’s greatest psychiatrists and a noted humanist. The seminar will be held at Queen Lane, Auditorium B on Thursday, March 31. from 4 - 6 p.m. The viewing of the film will be followed by a reception as well as a discussion moderated by Linda L. College of Medicine Black Tie White Coat Ball
Let’s dance the pain away! Join the Shirelles, the Crystals and the marvelous Marvelettes at the Black Tie White Coat Ball on Saturday, April 2, at the Philadelphia Downtown Marriott. The event will commence with cocktails at 6 p.m. and proceed with dinner and show at 7 p.m. All event proceeds will be used to further research into the causes and cures of chronic pain. IFC Golf Classic Fundraiser Scramble
On Saturday, April 9, from noon - 8 p.m., the Drexel University Inter-Fraternity Council will host the First Annual Golf Classic Fundraiser Scramble. The event will be held at the Ramblewood Country Club in Mount Laurel, NJ. Proceeds will benefit the Nicholas P. Pipino Scholarship Fund. For more information on this event, click here.

Montgomery County’s Chef’s Extravaganza & Open House
Get ready for “Three-Generations of Italian Cuisine” and experience a variety of fantastic dishes as we re-create the “Charming American Bistro” in a special event on Sunday, April 17, from 2 – 5 p.m. Executive chefs and owners Robert Rosato of Scoogi’s in Flourtown and Steve Waxman of Trax Restaurant & Café in Ambler will join us at the home of Linda and Frank Cymbala ’82 in Lower Gwynedd, PA, to showcase their talents. In addition, Montgomery County will welcome special guest speaker Chef Charles Ziccardi, Drexel’s Director of Culinary Arts, who will share his experiences in Philadelphia, Colorado, and Italy. It was a sell-out! On February 26, the Alumni Club of Philadelphia hosted alumni at the Philadelphia Museum of Art's highly acclaimed Salvador Dalí
