Show Your Dragon Pride for the Year of the Dragon

I am a DragonMany words describe a Drexel dragon. Ambitious. Hard-working. Creative. Successful.

Our alumni all over the world proudly call themselves dragons, and we want to spend the month of February celebrating that shared dragon pride. Print-out this PDF and share what makes YOU a dragon. Write-in your answer to the phrase, "I am a Dragon because ..." and send us a photograph or video of yourself holding up the sign! Photographs and videos can be sent by e-mail to alumni@drexel.edu, or tweet it to @drexelalumni using the hashtag #Drexel2012. Alumni Association Board Nominations

The Alumni Association is currently accepting nominations of qualified alumni interested in running for election to the Board of Governors. The Board oversees and advocates the Alumni Associationís efforts to engage, advance and support Drexel University, its alumni and students through a variety of programs, services and awards.

Members of the Board of Governors are elected based upon their demonstrated leadership and service to their chosen profession, Drexel University, the Alumni Association and the community. Candidates should have a strong belief and commitment to the mission of the Alumni Association. To that end, the Alumni Association is actively seeking a representative group of qualified nominees who meet this criteria and who are eager and willing to commit their time and share their wisdom in representing the alumni constituency.

Board members are expected to accept a leadership and participatory role by working closely with the Office of Alumni Relations and the Alumni Association to further its mission and its strategic initiatives. Board participation requires a time commitment at quarterly meetings of the full board, quarterly committee meetings, and a presence at campus and alumni events. Elected Directors serve four-year terms beginning July 1, 2012. To learn more about the role and responsibilities of the Board, please click here.

Phil GossPhil Goss '05
Hotel and Restaurant Management

Phil Goss knew at an early age that he wanted to play basketball at the professional level Ė either in Europe or for the NBA. So when the opportunity came to join the team at Drexel he committed on the spot, getting one step closer to his dream of playing basketball in the big leagues.

"Bruiser came to visit me when I was in high school. He said it wasn't going to be easy," said Phil, noting that going to Drexel was his first time outside of D.C.

All of Phil's hard work on the court paid off because he graduated from Drexel in the spring of 2005 and later that year was drafted to a professional team in Holland. More
