The Peirce Family: A Drexel Legacy
Between them they have six Drexel degrees, but the Peirce family’s connections to the University go far beyond their diplomas.
Between 1973 and 2011, John Peirce and three of his four children graduated from Drexel. John ’73, ’78; his oldest daughter Jen ’95, ’95; and his son Johnny ’11 all graduated from the College of Engineering, while his youngest daughter Cari ’06 chose a slightly different path and majored in marketing.

The Alumni Association will celebrate Homecoming 2014 with a special reunion for DAC Pack alumni at the Drexel vs. William & Mary game on Saturday, Jan. 25! Hang out and reminisce with fellow DAC Pack alumni in the Dragon Room before the game and at halftime. There, you'll enjoy wraps, snacks and drinks. You’ll gather on the bleachers in reserved seating at the North Gym for a group photograph and to sing the "Drexel Fight Song" as we celebrate its 75th anniversary this year! >>

Alumni Weekend 2014 Highlight: Golden and Silver Dragon Reunions
At Alumni Weekend on Friday, May 2, the Alumni Association will celebrate the 50th reunion of the Class of 1964 with the Golden Dragon Induction, Pinning and Awards Ceremony; a class photograph; a luncheon and a campus tour. Keep an eye out for your Alumni Weekend invitation in the mail with a full schedule and information on how to submit your "Class of 1964 Memory Book" in the upcoming weeks.
The Class of 1989 will celebrate its 25th reunion and induction into the Silver Dragon Society on Saturday, May 3. If you are a member of the Class of 1989 and you’re interested in helping plan your reunion and inviting classmates to join you back on campus, contact Cindy Leesman in the Office of Alumni Relations at firstname.lastname@example.org or 1.888.DU.GRADS.
In addition to these special reunions, all alumni are invited to join the Alumni Association on campus on Friday, May 2 and Saturday, May 3 for Alumni Weekend! The College of Medicine will hold its 50th reunion for the Hahnemann University and Woman's Medical College Classes of 1964 from Wednesday, May 14 to Friday, May 16.

The “CoAS Day-in-the-Life” Instagram Challenge uses the marvel of new technology to illustrate the truly unique and connected members of the Drexel College of Arts and Sciences (CoAS) community. Friday, Dec. 20 was turkey distribution day, the day that volunteers unload all of the frozen turkeys along Market Street and distribute them to the community organizations who then give them to the families. This year, the Alumni Association welcomed 118 alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University to the Paul Peck Alumni Center for turkey distribution. It was a festive morning, celebrating this long-standing holiday tradition!

The Drexel University Alumni Association's Alumni Holiday Turkey Project had a lot to celebrate this year! In honor of the Project's 40th anniversary, a lofty goal to raise $20,000 for the Project was set, and the response to the Alumni Association's call for donations was incredible! With contributions from alumni, faculty, staff and friends of the University, we actually raised more than $20,000 and collected the highest amount ever raised in a single year for the Turkey Project! >>

Drexel's Society of Women Engineers Chapter Claims 2013 Outstanding Section Gold Award, Seeks Alumnae Mentors
Drexel Engineering's Society of Women Engineers (SWE) Chapter earned the 2013 Outstanding Section Gold Award at the National Society of Women Engineers Conference—the Society's highest level of honor. SWE's objectives are to inform young women, their parents, counselors and the general public, of the qualifications and achievements of women engineers and the opportunities open to them; assist women in readying themselves for a return to active work after temporary retirement; serve as a center of information on women in engineering and encourage women engineers to attain high levels of education and professional achievement.
