| At the September 2011 meeting of the Drexel Board of Trustees, a resolution was approved providing the financing package for construction of The URBN Center. Construction will begin immediately. The URBN Center will be ready for use by the 2012-13 academic year.
The URBN Center will be the new home for programs in the Antoinette Westphal College of Media Arts & Design including Animation, Architecture, Arts Administration, Design & Merchandising, Digital Media, Entertainment & Arts Management, Fashion Design, Game Art & Production, Graphic Design, Interior Design, Music Industry, Product Design, and Web Development & Interaction. The URBN Center will also provide a black box theater for our Theatre program, a greatly expanded Leonard Pearlstein Gallery, a multi-use screening and lecture room, and offices for the College’s administrative functions.
Construction of the URBN center marks a nearly three year planning, design and fundraising process that many members of this college and the university participated in. We are thankful for the support of so many and excited for all that the future holds.
