AGEM Scholarship Announcement

Drexel University’s Center for Hospitality and Sport Management announced that Vincent Santosusso, a junior hospitality management major is the recipient of the 2014 Association of Gaming and Equipment Manufacturers Scholarship for students interested in pursuing a career in the gaming and casino industry. 

The $10,000 scholarship is sponsored by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM), an international trade association representing manufacturers of electronic gaming devices, systems, and components for the gaming industry.

"This partnership with Drexel is an extension of AGEM's overall commitment to support important educational initiatives," said AGEM President Tom Jingoli. "On behalf of our 130 member companies located in 20 countries around the world, we congratulate Vincent Santosusso on being the first recipient of the AGEM Scholarship. We look forward to hearing about his success at Drexel and in the gaming industry in the future."

“I am very excited to be the first recipient of the AGEM Scholarship,” said Santosusso. “I thank AGEM for their support of students pursuing a career in gaming. It clearly shows their commitment to the industry. This scholarship is a major assistance in allowing me to continue my studies.”

“This generous gift makes a statement about the association’s leadership and their commitment to the future of educational gaming programs,” said Bob Ambrose, instructor of gaming and hospitality at the Center for Hospitality and Sport Management at Drexel University.

“It is an honor to partner with AGEM and its members. Their initiative allows us to continue to create a gaming-centric curriculum to offer studies for students like Vincent who have shown a serious commitment to a career in gaming management.”

The scholarship was awarded to provide financial support in the form of a scholarship for the 2014-2015 academic year.  A selection committee consisting of faculty and staff chose Santosusso as the scholarship winner based upon academic performance, demonstrated excellence in gaming and casino courses and an expressed interest in gaming.
